Fulton 55 opening: Will other venues step up their game?

The much talked about Fulton 55 is set to open next weekend with two good looking shows, and already it looks like this is shaping up as the it venue in town. At least from the upcoming schedule Mike Oz posted up at the Beehive. Especially seeing as a few of these shows would normally be booked at other venues (the Silent Comedy and Cash'd Out have played Audies before and Six Ounce Gloves seemed to have a home at the Starline).

There will surely be some kinks to work out once the place really gets up and running, but it looks like some venues may be getting their shows poached by the new guy in town. That's called competition and it's a good thing and it's gonna force everyone to step up the game.

Who's ready to call it? Will there be any winners or losers coming out of all this?

Yeah, I definitely think Audie's could be hurt by this. Seems like a lot of acts that book there will be booking at Fulton 55. Fortunately, Audie knows how to step it up and I think he will. If we can have them both going strong it'll be real good for Fresno.

Starline, Frank's Place and Bablyon will certainly be affected too. I worry about Frank's Place, hopefully they can get some regular shows in there somehow. Starline and Babylon will be okay as long as the Diehardzs, Art Silvas and Splotchs still book there.

The younger venues like Kuppajoes, Bel-Tower, CYC and Club Retro shouldn't be bothered much since very few of the bands they feature would play Fulton 55, I suspect.
