The lineup for this year's Coachella music festival was released last night and it's a bit of mixed bag for me. I'm not totally excited by any of the headliners, and there are no bands that would really draw me (like Faith No More last year or Leonard Cohen the year before). There are enough interesting secondary and tent-stage bands to make it worth my while. Saturday stacks up particularly well.
Here's a breakdown of my must sees:
Friday: Interpol, Cee Lo, Klaxon, the Aquabats
Saturday: One Day as a Lion, Scissor Sisters, Cage the Elephant, Wire
Sunday: Kanye, Duran Duran, the National, CSS
Obviously, this is just one man's opinion and I could see where some people might think this is a solid line-up. You tell me? How does this lineup stack up against year's past.

Seriously, who do you know that's properly into music that goes to festivals like this for the headliners?
The headliners are there to attract the mainstream music listeners.
There is lots of interest to me:
Cut Copy's new album is amazing
Lauryn Hill
Scissor Sisters
Black Keys
Fat Freddy's Drop
Green Velvet
Thunderball
Wire
Leftfield (amazing live)
Black Joe Lewis
etc.
Right? I though that some last year, but there were enough old-timer dudes (Pavement, Faith No More, Devo), to make things interesting. Same thing the year before (Morissey, Paul McCartney, Leonard Cohen). There are a lot of choice-name bands on this year's lineup. Just no one that gets my heart racing.
Not sure if I'm getting too old or if the lineup is terrible ... maybe both. So meh.
