In the next 40 years, the San Joaquin Valley is expected to more than double in size from 3.3 million to seven million residents. Are we prepared for such exponential growth?
Valley Public Television examines the issues in "The San Joaquin Valley" a limited series airing on Thursdays at 7 p.m.
The series documents the work of the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley, established by Governor Schwarzenegger and including representatives from eight counties from Kern to San Joaquin.
Topics include economic and workforce development (Feb 22), health & human services (Mar 1), air quality (Mar 8) and the San Joaquin Valley Blueprint Project, which covers land use, water, resources and transportation issues (Mar 15).
Immediately following each program will be a roundtable discussion featuring local business, non-profit and government leaders. For more information, visit kvpt.org and click on "The San Joaquin Valley" under "Highlights."
