Fresno Famous

Over the years I’ve had a bad impression of downtown Fresno. A lot of the people I have talked to say it’s a dirty place with a lot of homeless people, and that there’s a lot of broken down places. I would also hear people’s conversations about downtown, saying that there isn’t much to do in downtown Fresno, saying that it would be a horrible place to live because of parking and cars getting broken into. I just moved to Fresno 6 months ago and since mid-January I have been exploring down town and getting to know it. In my opinion, I disagree with all the negative comments.

I was fortunate enough to go to check out lofts in downtown Fresno, and all I have to say is that they are beautiful and it would be nice to live in a loft. These lofts bring the urban living environment that you wouldn’t be able to get in any other place in Fresno. I never had a problem to find parking neither did anyone break into my car. The homeless were respectful and I did not mind them at all.

I got to know a lot of people in downtown and they were kind enough to tell me about events that happen in downtown. One of the first events that I went to was ArtHop. It was interesting to see all the different types of art that artist had to share with the public. It was a different experience for me because art doesn’t interest me but I gave it a chance and it was really fun, not only did they have art but they also had music and food.

Exploring through downtown was also a great experience because I found a lot of restaurants that I’ve never heard of, or types of food I’ve never had. I’ve eaten in at least 3 restaurants and there food was great, they all had great customer service and were very polite. Downtown also has many great coffee shops with coffee from all over the world.

I also heard that Fresno has a baseball team called Fresno Grizziles and their stadium is located in downtown. I don’t it gets any better than having a big stadium to go watch a baseball game with friends and family in downtown. I’m really looking forward to watching the Grizzlies play during summer.

In my opinion I believe that Fresno has an awesome downtown. People have to give downtown a chance and take a look for themselves that downtown has to offer. It might not be the biggest and best downtown, but Fresno’s downtown is decent and a great place to be.
