When art enthusiasts think of fine art the usual destinations that come to mind include the Fresno Art Museum, ArtHop venues and the Tower District. Most people seem to forget about what is in the heart of downtown, the Fulton Mall. That’s right! Not many people know about the vast collection of public art that is available in our own downtown mall.
The mall exhibits many colorful mosaic benches and 19 sculptures from various national and international artists. With sculpture collections such as the “Three Fires” by Claire Falkenstein and the truly one of a kind “La Grand Laveuse (Washer Woman)” by Pierre Auguste Renoir (The only one of six original bronze castings that visitors are allowed to touch) downtownfresno.org; the lesser known Fulton Mall’s Public Art is certainly a unique collection of fine art that everyone should visit.
