The revitalization efforts for downtown Fresno is are attempt to increase foot traffic in a once busting area of our city. While some may argue that revitalization is undesirable as it tends to displace lower income residents while higher income groups move in resulting in an increased tax rate. Proponents point out that downtown city growth is vital to the local economy and the increase in foot traffic is the primary tool in that effort.
While the argument rages back and forth between these opposing views regarding revitalization the fact remains that down town Fresno has been largely forgotten by most residents. Even if a shift between classes occurs the benefits include a decrease in crime which allows families to feel safer in their communities. Who among us does not want to feel safe in their home?
Therefore, endear and nourish the Fresno revitalization bug in you! Everyone who does is helping a good and worthy cause. Whether you enjoy attending art hop on the first and 3rd Thursday of every month or if you would prefer taking your family to a Fresno Grizzlies game your patronage would be instrumental in putting downtown Fresno back on the map. So come on down and have an excellent dinner and a few drinks at Brick restaurant located at 820 Van Ness Avenue and you will see that the downtown bug is quite contagious! So bring your family and friends and support the cause! Warning side effects have been noted to include a heightened state of euphoria, endorphins overflow and a prolonged state of happiness.
