The Fresno Bug
The revitalization efforts for downtown Fresno is are attempt to increase foot traffic in a once busting area of our city. While some may argue that revitalization is undesirable as it tends to displace lower income residents while higher income groups move in resulting in an increased tax rate. Proponents point out that downtown city growth is vital to the local economy and the increase in foot traffic is the primary tool in that effort.
While the argument rages back and forth between these opposing views regarding revitalization the fact remains that down town Fresno has been largely forgotten by most residents.
