Nearly a dozen notable Valley bands are donating their time and energy to bring relief to the victims of last week's earthquake and tsunami at the Benefit for Japan concert Sunday from 4-9 p.m. at the Starline.

The stellar lineup includes such diverse bands and artists as Midnight Run, Patrick Contreras, Karen Marguth, Rockville, Pamela Henri, Pieter Moerdyk and The Pickford-Bock Blues Band.

"We're all blown way by last week's events, and as musicians, this is one way we give of ourselves," said event organizer Vince Warner. "It's our hope that people come out, help out, and experience some of the outstanding musical talent the Valley has to offer."

All proceeds will go to AmeriCares, a humanitarian, nonprofit organization that has received the highest marks possible from Charity Navigator and the Wise Giving Alliance.

Starline is at 833 E. Fern in Fresno's Tower District. 21 and over, please.
