Have you been to Downtown Fresno lately? For most people who live in Fresno, the answer is "no". Just a couple of months ago, the answer would have been "no" for me as well. Over the past two months I have had the privilege to experience what Downtown Fresno has to offer. For the younger crowd especially, the nightlife in Downtown Fresno is something not well-known. There are three places I have been to in the past month alone that are great spots to drink and have a good time.

  • The first place I visited was Hero's Sports Lounge and Pizza Company. This sports bar and restaurant stays open late and shows all sporting events, including pay-per-view events.
  • I also visited Club One Casino, which has eighty-four table and poker games. Club One Casino has a full bar and 24-hour dining. They also show pay-per-view sporting events.
  • Full Circle Brewery Co. was my most recent discovery. They are open Wednesday thru Saturday, from 4:00p.m.-11:00p.m. Full Circle Brewery Co. is a micro brewery that serves beer and wine that they make on site. They have a variety of entertainment such as live bands, silent film showings, poetry slams, and burlesque dancers.

My experience in Downtown Fresno has taught me not to judge a book by its cover. Most people think of Downtown Fresno as a boring, dirty, and unsafe place to be. My goal now is to get the word out to our community that there are many things to do in Downtown Fresno and that it is very safe. There are a lot more hidden treasures in Downtown Fresno that I hope to discover and I hope you will discover them too.

These are all great places, to add some more we would recommend Iron Bird Cafe, tonight it was Irish Music Night, very good live music. Another place that consistently offers quality entertainment is Fulton 55. Something of a 'hidden jewel", Fulton 55 has been selling out on weekends for sometime.

If your looking for non-music destinations, there is Revive Cafe, Whole Farms Market at 1801 Broadway for wholesome meals and ingredients.
