Neihborhood Thrift is now open! Located at 1050 N. Fulton just south of Olive and Fulton next door to Babylon Night Club, Tower Mosaic and Bargain Boutique. You will find a great selection of clothes, shoes, books, linnens, houseware, furniture, toys, etc. All profits go to a ministry called "Target Neighborhood" run by The Well Community Church. Store hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10:00am-5:00pm. Donations are welcomed during this time.

The Neighborhood Thrift Store seeks to generate revenues for it's "Target Neighborhood" ministry and to empower and employ local residents and volunteers from The Well Community Church. The Target Neighborhood ministry began at Susan B. Anthony Elementary School in 2002 and has spread to it's surrounding neighborhoods (As far north as Olive, Clark to the east, Illinois & McKenzie to the south and as far west as Vanness).

Since 2002 volunteers from The Well Community Church have taken part in organizing a Saturday morning program at the school called "The Patty Project". This program has a family feel to it and children from the school and their parents are invited to come and enjoy food provided by the Poverello house, sports, games, crafts and character and bible discussions as well as a woman's bible study en espanol. In addition to the Saturday morning program, individuals volunteer in the classroom and after school tutoring program, match up with children in the Police Activities League
mentoring program, coach sports, and help with other miscellaneous events at the school. Community outreach and development has also flowed into the neighborhood through organized cleanup days, movie nights and home remodel projects amongst other things. An Inaugural "Community Day" was held at Ted C. Wills Community Center in the neighborhood to establish more unity amongst
neighbors and had a community ownership and empowerment theme.
