Fresno Famous

This is stolen from a post from Kathy Mahan over at the Beehive, where she reports that the Fresno Convention Center announced a four-year deal to host the Fresno Tattoo Convention. Good news and all.

I was struck by the fact that this was the convention's seventh year. I know that it has been happening for awhile and bringing in awesome bands and pulling a lot of people downtown, but I wasn't fully aware of its scope or longevity. We (as bloggers, Fresnans, people, etc.) tend to get locked in on our own stuff, and think it's all that matters. Sometimes we forget there's a whole other world happening around us, which maybe relates some to this comment.

So, what other awesome events are we not talking about enough?
