So, i've eaten @ mezcal once before, and that time i wasn't super impressed. but, that was over a year ago and they've stepped it up. we stumbled in this morning for lunch because the place my wife and i had decided to take our mother's for mother's day was closed. we knew mezcal was around the corner so we stopped in.
the decor is still nice, and they've added a really interesting piece of art on the stage. honestly, it's good art. today there was a mariachi band playing. i'm not sure if that's a normal sunday thing for them, or if it was due to mother's day. but, they did have their normal sunday buffet going. however, we decided to order off the menu.
both our mom's chose the carne asada tacos. the tacos looked very good, and came with beans and rice. both ladies enjoyed their meal.
my wife had the fish tacos, which were surprisingly spicy. they were good though. the fish was breaded, but it was a light breading. the fish on the tacos tasted fresh, and not too fishy.
myself, i went with the chile verde. i'm always on the hunt for good chile verde and this order didn't let me down. the sauce was flavorful, and the pork was still moist. i was very impressed because there were pieces of actual green chiles in the sauce, a rarity.
finally, the service was very friendly. they even had roses for the mothers!
