This is a little more than a week out, but it's worth mentioning early.
Creative Fresno, which you all know from its various projects around town, is hosting a Mindforum Lecture, 6 p.m. July 18 at Fulton 55. The lecture (a partnership with Fulton 55 and Granville Homes) will focus on downtown living, specifically looking at sustainability and "greeness."
Notice those quotes.
Granville's Darius Assemi will talk about the successes and challenges of the company's commitment to downtown (and the environment), and Joseph Oldham, the city's sustainability manager will talk about specific programs to assist residents.
The presentation will be followed by a walking tour of Granvillle's new Fulton Village development, which is shaping up super nicely and is also environmentally innovative. Each unit has its own solar panel.
For those interested in the area, this would make a nice introduction.

Creative Fresno and GV Urban put on a very informative presentation. I found the difference of energy consumption between multi-family residences and single family residences to be astonishing. A family living in an apartment or loft uses about 450 kilowatt hours per month, a family that lives in a single family home uses about 700 kilowatt hours per month. That is a huge difference, imagine how much energy would be saved if a more people lived in a loft in Downtown Fresno.
Also, you can get an energy tune-up for free. City of Fresno received federal funds to improve efficiency. You can sign up for a tune-up assessment here http://www.fresno.gov/Government/DepartmentDirectory/PlanningandDevelopm...
We live across the street from Fulton Village, it is coming along nicely. It is great to see additional options for people who want to live in Downtown Fresno, particularly sustainable, green options. Mike and I plan to attend this event.
Those apartments look like something from the Bauhaus School. But, of course I was the one who thought Fulton 55 looked like a Frank Loyd Wright style building. Interesting place to live.
