It's the Tower District's 12th Annual Jamaica My Weekend - Caribbean Music Celebration! This wonderful all-ages event will be held across from St. Therese Church on the Southwest corner of Maroa and Floradora in Fresno, California. This year's celebration headliner is world-renowned reggae artist Garth Dennis, founding member of Black Uhuru and later member of The Wailing Souls.
Reggae classic artist Garth Dennis is an original member of the Trenchtown musical fraternity in Kingston Jamaica, the birthplace of reggae music. Garth Dennis is a four-time Grammy nominee, having worked in the entertainment industry for some 30 years now.
Opening the show are local favorites, King Sugar currently celebrating their 5th year of playing music together. Master of Ceremonies will be Noah. Performing between sets will be DJ Professor Stone.
Admission price is $15 in advance, $20 day of show.
Children 9 and under free with paid adult admission.
Food vendors will be Sequoia Brewery, Cracked Pepper Bistro, Tower Dogs, dolce cucina and Kenny Paterson's BBQ serving up tropical treats like jerk chicken and dirty rice, jerk pork and desert specialties. Make the best of Fresno's tropical weather and enjoy some of our famous “Yah Mon! Rum Punch” in the Beverage Oasis. Try your luck at the $5 Guitar Raffle sponsored by our friends at Soundstage Pro Audio.
