And the wall reads, "Welcome to the Mural District!"

Here's something that should be fun for all the down-town-o-philes (and anyone else who is intersted in an authentic Fresno art scene). "Pop Surrealsim: Artists Pushing the Envelope Through Murals," is a collaboration between Creative Fresno and Arte Americas that looks at wall-art in the Mural District (and beyond) by talking with the artists who put it up. Creative Fresno, if you remember has been instrumental in getting many of these murals painted. And Arte Americas is currently showing "<Su Arte Here> Public Art from La Galeria de la Raza."

The event is part of Creative Fresno's Minforum series. It runs from 6 to 8 p.m., tonight at Arte Americas and is free to the public.
