Looking forward to the Fresno Bee + coming out December 4th. I wonder how deep the subscription archives will go? Just a few days or weeks or all the way back in the way back machine to decades past? Of course it all depends on how much it costs, as well. But, I would love to have access to those deep, old Bee files from long ago. It would be nice to find, say the Fresno Bee from 1966, the year I played my first gig at the Memorial Auditorium. I doubt if they printed the name of our band, Copasetic Copulation. It was a little too risque. But, I'm kind of proud that as 16 year olds we came up with such a shocking name and actually told people that was our name. We played Rolling Stone covers of Muddy Waters covers, no original material.
I would like to look up historical dates and see the old Bee files. Look up events and people. Dates like the day JFK died, The Viet Nam war, Al Radka and the general goings on in Fresno way back in the day.
BEE+ UPDATE 30NOV12! They have added a Fresnobee.com/plus sign-up page here: http://secure.fresnobee.com/subscribe/plus.html
I'm so glad they added a Frequently Asked Page here as well: http://secure.fresnobee.com/subscribe/plus_faq.html
Glad I didn't let my hard copy subscription elapse as I was thinking about doing because a discount is given for the Bee+ if you are an existing subscriber. I'm still a little unclear about how it will work. Hopefully on Dec 4th I'll find out. Or, at noon today customer service will start answering the phone to let me know what's up. I'll come back here and update as soon as I find out the details of this new Bee service.
