Thank you to the Central California Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) for partnering with us on the Youth Art Challenge, as well as the Fresno Met's Cat Adoption Days.

*Youth Art Challenge*

Kids and teens were given an entry form to draw and color an adoption poster using three themes: Fresno Metropolitan Museum, Dr. Seuss's "Cat in the Hat" character and CCSPCA cat adoptions. Kids and teens used their creativity to design the poster and come up with their own poetic Seuss-ified sayings to help get homeless cats a new lease on life.
The Age Group Break Down:
K-2
3-5
6-8
9-12
The Youth Art Challenge was a success with over 300 entries it was hard to choose our winners. We had one winner per age category and they will be celebrated at the Youth Art Challenge Reception. Also being celebrated is the CCSPCA's one year anniversary at the River Park Adoption Center location. Join us at the River park Adoption Center on December 12, 2009 at 10am to view the children's vibrant artwork and at 11am see the animals available for adoption. All Youth Art Challenge winners will receive a Certificate of Creative Achievement as well as a Jr. membership to the Museum and a gift bag!
