In 2006, trend-watchers said online advertising was quickly becoming one of the fastest growing mediums for marketing savvy businesses. Search engine giants Google and Yahoo are the new battlegrounds as businesses jostle for clicks that ultimately translate into sales. Jargon like organic search engine marketing and pay-per-click is now standard and Web designers hold the keys to marketing success in their hands. In the middle of it all is the Fresno web design company RedSwimmer.com.
In September 2006, Andrew Savala partnered with Rodger Harrell, the founder of the Fresno-based Internet consulting company RedSwimmer Web Designs. In May, Savala, confident of the growing demand for search engine marketing, took over the company. In networking through the Fresno Chamber of Commerce, Business Networking International (BNI) and the Central Valley Software Partnership (CVSP), Savala saw his business expand.
It is a big difference from when I started working with this company, he said. My client base has more than doubled and I project a continuing steady increase.
Through his networking, related links through associates' webpages and search engine marketing, he showed potential clients what he could do for them and in doing so gained several long, ongoing business relationships.
RedSwimmer was a natural branch for the 27-year-old with 15 years of software design experience.
Savala was hired by DPS Telecom right after attending Fresno State University and quickly became the lead software developer working on their flagship product the T/Mon, a remote alarm monitoring system.
Because of his extensive computer knowledge, Savala makes the web work for his clients, giving even small companies a more competitive edge.
After the initial consultation, Savala sets up a metrics program that collects data to measure the ongoing effectiveness of his marketing plan. These metrics provide the visibility necessary to guide his marketing efforts and reassure the client that they are getting their monies worth. For clients with existing web sites, the metrics not only determine how many people visit the site, but also how they arrived at the site in the first place.
Savala uses the metrics and with the client comes up with marketing solutions custom tailor to the client's needs. He offers organic search engine marketing and pay-per-click search engine marketing along with helping the client build their incoming links. In organic searches, Savala custom tailors the content using information from the metrics so it features key phrases Fresno consumers are most likely to type in the search field.
I can make my clients' Web sites get higher rankings so that they are the ones that appear on the first search results page, he said.
Aside with working data to garner more hits, Savala also makes the web site an eye-catching advertising tool.
Dan Smith, a broker with The Fig Group, said Savala completely changed their website around.
Savala added visual graphics to what was once just pages loaded with information and snapshots of $1 to $3 million homes in the Fresno Old Fig Garden area.
Andrew is absolutely excellent, he said. He completely revitalized the site. I get a lot of complements from people visiting the website.
Smith, a broker for 35 years, said when people see a business web site it is like they are viewing a business card. First impressions are made as soon as the page pulls up and always has to look professional.
Savala wants to continue focusing on Fresno area businesses as a clientele base. He said there is more than enough work in the Central Valley.
I build on having a face-to-face relationship with my clients and associates, the Fresno native said. We have a common history and I have an expertise in marketing Fresno based business.
