Bubba dropped the bomb Wednesday: He's ending his talk radio show on 940 KYNO.
What's that? You didn't know he had a radio show? Maybe that was the problem. Actually though, the show wasn't bad, much more fun to listen to than that other local right wing radio dude. More local. You probably should have been listening.
But, it was kinda all over the place too. When he'd rush through an interesting segment with Mike Oz talking about Fresno's nightlife to get to over-the-air praying on the next segment, that's some oddass radio.
From what we can gather from being a regular listener, his reason for leaving the show is a combination of Alan being busy making Christian films coupled with not having the desire to push the show's ratings out of the basement. Building an audience takes a lot of time and work.
KYNO's owner, John Ostlund, is big on being local. Hopefully he and Program Director, E. Curtis Johnson, will fill the Autry Show's time slot (10 to Noon) with something Fresno (as Bubba hinted at Wednesday).

I think Mike Oz should do a show there, he was the best thing about the Bubba show. It was funny the other day when Mike was trying to explain Family Force 5 to Bubba and he was totally not getting it.
I would have liked him had he not been so far to the right. When he would talk about anything having to do with show business you could tell it was in his blood. The intros every day had a dynamic feel to them and he was entertaining at times, but there again, it was the extreme, far right policies he embraced that drove me away from his show. "Obama is a communist" was the last straw for me. Please, Mr. Ostlund, bring a politically moderate talker to that time slot. A civic minded Fresnan who can bend to the Left or the Right.
I wonder how hard it would be to get a Weird Fresno radio program? I have experience. I did a podcast. Once.
Podcast? Oh you're in, in my book.
You might have to talk to more right wing ghosts than you're comfortable with though.
Actually I'm pretty sure Bigfoot is the right wing of the paranormal out there. And I'm pretty sure aliens are the socialists of the bunch. You know, that whole abduction thing and all.
