Our New Year's resolutions are to drink way more and stay up later. To that end, Famous gives you our picks for New Year's party options, and reminds you to count your blessings you're not caged in a police pen in the middle of Times Square, freezing your ass off and staring at Regis Philbin on the jumbotron.

Are you willing to go all-out this year and really put some effort into having a killer time? The folks at Fresnogoth bring you Jack the Ripper & His Bleeding Beauties Fancy Dress Costume Ball at Déjà Vu. The regular DJ's from two popular Fresnogoth events, Electroshockk and Futureshockk, will be going head to head spinning dark 80's, synth pop, and EBM. Everyone will be running around as Jack the Ripper and his victims, and you had better be in appropriate Victorian garb and masquerade mask. It'll be like living in a Smiths song all night! The party kicks off at 9pm and is $5. Sorry kiddies, 21+.

Nectar vs. Focus
609 Grille: 609 E Olive

More head to head DJ action can be found at 609 Grille, with the Nectar vs. Focus party. DJ Bradley from Nectar squares off against Merle and Clint from Focus on four turntables, with visuals by NATA. 609 Grille is a small spot, so you can be sure this place will be packed with the beautiful people. The claim has been made that this party will be offering "complimentary champagne" all night, which is pretty enticing! The party starts at 10pm and is $5 before 11pm or $10 after.

New Year's Eve Bash with Glen Delpit & the Subterraneans
Full Circle Brewing Co: 620 F St.

Maybe you'd prefer to ring in the New Year with some down home music and homemade moonshine. Full Circle Brewing Co is throwing a New Year's Eve Bash with Glen Delpit & the Subterraneans. Self-described as American roots music, the group plays twangy blues that perfectly matches the Full Circle microbrews. The party starts at 9pm and costs $10.

Looking for a Feliz Año Nuevo? The outrageously popular Starline Salsa Club brings Orquesta Charanson de San Francisco to Fresno to party at the downtown Radisson. A world-class charanga band based out of Oakland, Orquesta Charanson will be helping you shake your booty to old school Cuban rhythms. Put on your stilettos and dance the night away for $40. The party starts at 9pm.

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts + Taylor Dayne

We're a little speechless about the idea of Joan Jett and the Blackhearts playing Table Mountain this New Year's Eve, so we'll just focus on Taylor Dayne. That's right, Taylor Dane! Live! At Table Mountain! She's a student of Kabbalah now, so we're not sure if that means she still celebrates our New Year or what. Is this real or just a game? That's what I'd ask her, and then she'd tell it to my heart, because I can't believe you've got a heart of stone. Oh oh oh. Sigh. Show starts at 9pm; tickets are $25 and $15 (Club Card discounts available). Sorry kiddies, 18+.
