Hailing from the dry suburbia that is Fresno, California, Outside the Wire was formed initially as a trio. They later incorporated a drummer/vocalist and recorded a two song EP. This project, initially called Twisted '64, morphed into its current amalgam with the addition of a new drummer. The band draws its influences from a myriad of musicians. Bands such as Rush, Mastodon, Metallica, Dream Theater, Iron Maiden and even the Beatles have greatly influenced the creation of their unique sound. Their first two songs demonstrate this ability to mix both melodic hooks and driving solos, with politically charged lyrics and themes.
