Big Red Wines for Christmas

Newton Claret 2005
Bordeaux fans will appreciate the casual sophistication and elegant structure of this wine. The wine opens with aromas of blueberries, cranberries and strawberries with touches of cassis. On the palate ripe tannins surround rich black cherries, blackberries and plum flavors with a hint of toasted oak balanced with a nice acidity

Rancho Sisquoc River Red 2004
32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 13% Sangiovese, 13% Syrah, 11% Malbec)
Alec has created another fine blend that pleasantly fills the mouth with spicy vanilla, gingerbread, ripe cherry and blackberries. This wine is easy on the palate with subdued tannin, finishing soft and dry with notes of bakers chocolate. New American and Hungarian oak aged for 13 months.

Falcor Le Bijou 2002
Our 2002 "Le Bijou" ("The Jewel" in French) is an elegant Bordeaux-style blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Opening with aromas of tobacco, cassis, cedar, cola berries and dusty earth, the wine is loaded with opulent blackberry and blueberry fruit that is balanced by sweet tannins and subtle new oak. Luscious and graceful, this wine has a finish that lingers on and on. Crafted in the style of great Bordeaux, the varieties were aged separately in French & American oak for ten months, then racked, blended together and placed back into barrel for seven months additional aging. Approachable on release, this wine will age 8-10 years. 913 cases made

L'Ecole No 41 Cabernet 2002
"Dense and rich, a deep red with a range of ripe flavors, offering black cherry, dark currant, smoke and black olive character that doesn?t quit on the long, broad finish. Best from 2008 through 2020."

Provenance Rutherford Cabernet 2005
Tasting Notes - This approachable, age-worthy wine displays a balance of elegance and substance. The 2005 Cab has hallmark "Rutherford Dust" characteristics, as well as classic cassis, bing cherry, and mocha nuances.
