Don't be a sucka. Vote.

I'm gonna assume every one here is registered to vote. If not, get crackin'. To vote in the presidential primaries Feb. 5, you need to be registered by Jan. 22.
There are all sorts of rules concerning political parties and who and vote for whom based on what political parties they list. So, think about that if you're, let's say, not a republican but want to vote for Ron Paul.

Thanks for that link to the smartvoter.org webpage. Lots of good info there.

Too bad they still have several of the candidates for president listed there that have just recently dropped out of the race. Bill Richardson, Chris Dodd and Joe Biden are also still listed in my sample ballot I just got in the mail. I also noticed former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney is running for president on BOTH the Green party AND the Peace and Freedom Party ticket. I love politics.
Presidential Candidate's Forum
I just found out there will be a presidential candidate's forum at Fresno City College this Sunday 1/13/08 from 1pm to 4pm. No actual candidates will be there but their representatives will be. Not sure what room or building but it shouldn't be too hard to find.

VOTE!
The Bee had an article the other day about the absentee voters already casting ballots. More power to 'em. But, I love the in-person experience of voting at my neighborhood polling place: St. Therese Church on Wishon and Floradora. Seeing the familiar faces, the greetings and feelings of community is important. We're always happy to see Madeline Ewald there. She's like our Glenn ave. Block Mother, always at any community/government event and keeping an eye on our neighborhood. The one place where I have as much power as a rich or powerful person is when I vote.
