Terrance is the unusually tall and exceptionally stylish guy you see everywhere with a digital camera. His photos chronicle Fresno's evolution since 1999- don't miss it! Plus those wacky Lemoorons The Insects are playing!
More from the press release:
Terrance L. Reimer will exhibit a selection of images from his photographic project — The Third California, at the art gallery, Club Jinnaka, 1707 Fulton St., Fresno. The exhibition opens on ArtHop, Thursday June 7th and runs through Saturday, June 30th. A reception will be held Sunday, June 10th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. This documentary diary of 'snapshots' from Reimer's point and shoot camera weaves a narrative thread throughout the Central Valley capturing the 'Golden State's New Frontier — The Third California.'This central interior region, defined as "The Third California," by Brookings Institution fellows Joel Kotkin and William H. Frey in their March 2007 research brief "The Third California: The Golden State's New Frontier", extends from the outer suburbs of greater Los Angeles to the Sierra foothills in Northern California. This area of California is growing four times faster than the rest of the state and presently represents about 30% of the state's population, or about 9 million people according to 2000 census data.
In March of 1999, Reimer immigrated to the Sierra foothills of 'The Third California' from the hinterlands of the Midwest, to live the 'West Coast' dream while documenting this unknown but emerging 'Third California' as a demographic participant and personified statistic simultaneously. Immediately transfixed visually by this new topography and diverse cultural geography, Reimer sought to record and document it through the lens of his 'point and shoot' camera generating thousands of 'snapshots' of his daily discoveries and explorations. Twenty of these images will be on display as part of this on-going diary project.
To honor the dynamic and diverse music culture within 'The Third California,' special musical guests The Insects will share their Captain Beefheart inspired 'weirdo indie rock' at Thursday evening's ARTHOP opening.

Mantis Girls on the Loose
"We're playing two new songs that I'm pretty proud of.
They're called Voodoo Doll and The Suzie Song.
Gweedo's threatening to bring an army of fans as well
as some "fat mantis girls" who are quite willing to
flash their breasts. Consider yourself warned!"
Mark — The Insects
Indeed, The Insects are a force to be reckoned with. Do yourself a favor and attend this event.
