"Urban Ledgend" but Rod you always remind us how gritty it is

But wait your street is no actually considered part of Downtown.

Well said

Rob DeFrees

Famous Whitewater is quite correct. If all of yoy cheeky buggers keep mouthing the 'urban legend' about Downtown not being safe you do the City of Fresno and yourselves shame.

MOI has lived Downtown for a year. MOI is till in one piece, and MOI lives on a gritty road.

To all who are so negative, hope the price of petrol climbs to $10.00 a gallon and one of your lovely neighbors in a lovely neighborhood gets up in the middle of the night and nicks it all.

humor

Hey, press 2901, thanks for the lol.

it was on my list.

dang it! I was Downtown yesterday and forgot to get stabbed by druggies.

downtown isn't for people that live their life in fear.

lol @ how some people are so meek that they take it for granted that another person will eventually impose their will on them.

safety

"Don't forget the flyers posted everywhere warning people to lock their cars and warning women about a purse snatcher."

Oh my God!! Are you actually saying that people have to lock their cars downtown. What a nightmare!! And women have to watch their purses too..I don't understand how people can live in such chaos!! Why isn't the local media all over this.

Thats why north Fresno is sooo much better, it's nothing but hugs, kisses and rainbows all day long!!

Dont for get to get stabbed by druggies when parking underground

They roam those parking garages!
When was the last stabbing in the bathroom there?
Yes Downtown is safe.
You have a drugged up ex? con thats a skinny white guy with gray short hair that hangs around the corner of Tulare and M Street in front of the school building all afternoon.
Don't forget the flyers posted everywhere warning people to lock their cars and warning women about a purse snatcher.

i mug people downtown all the time.

I 2nd

I never hear of people getting "mugged" downtown...And I've never feared walking around down there at night...I do think the lofts are VERY over priced but a great idea. I was so stoked to hear about them until I found out the prices, almost comical...Common, we live in Fresno, it's not that bad here. You want security, there's a police substation around the corner...There is now a new club/lounge and some decent food in walking distance...

Can we please...

Get over this dumb-ass fear that downtown gets dangerous after dark? Will somebody look at the crime stats. Please. Thank you.

This is not San Fran or LA

I have to agree, I just don't see anyone paying $400 a square ft in Downtown Fresno in it's current condition. It's going to stay that way for a long time considering the city counsel seems unable to get anything accomplished. I love the idea though. I love it so much that considering the current drop in building prices, it would be more cost effective to buy and restore my own historic building rather than pay to live in one of your lofts.....and I would own it. But I won't because I don't want to live downtown and get mugged if I decide to go for a walk after dark.

What?

SF and LA have nice downtowns where there would be plenty of fun/interesting attractions to walk to. Not so much with Fresno. Also, there's not nearly as much disposable income in Fresno as in LA or SF. Good luck.

How many of these lofts have actually been sold?

How many lofts are in plans and how many have already been sold?
What happens if someone buys one and the building is not finished?
Are the loft owners stuck and jacked?
I meet the salesman at the Mayor's Shill'ion Dollar tour and he could not answer the basic questions about the lofts.
Basic questions like safety and security.
Also if you bought a loft and moved in your stuck inside at night.
A prisoner in the building because its not safe to go outside after dark.
There are no stores, restaurants or clubs within walking distance.
Club One doesn't count!
You have the street vagrants hanging around outside there bugging people for drug money.
You can't even walk from the stadium to the building without vagrants bugging you for money.
They hang around outside the stadium bugging people after events.
Also how many people get robbed or stabbed in that underground parking garage?
What security would they have to insure peoples safety?
The street vagrants should not be allowed in the underground parking area.
Also its time to close the public bathrooms down.
Most people parking don't need a bathroom and it just helps enable the vagrants.
These projects work in LA and SF because housing is in high demand and these projects are completed before anyone moves in.
Also the demand for them in those cities is there.
Those buildings have Security and secure parking.
Most are near rapid transit or within walking distance or stores, clubs ect.
So people are not trapped in the building at night afraid to go out.
In Fresno you can get two or three decent houses for the price of these lofts.
One house to live in and two to rent out.
A loft in an unfinished building is too big of a financial risk.
This is Fresno not LA or SF.
In those cities people would have been lining up to buy one.
Just go down and look at all the street vagrants that loiter outside the building all day on the mall.
Nobody paying those prices wants to see that outside.
Especially if they can buy a decent house in a gated community.

nice job...love the brick walls in the interior...hopefully people snatch those up...

loft living

$400/sq ft is a little above twice the going rate of the average home in Fresno. That is typical for loft living...ever been to S.F. or L.A.?

p.s. be sure to visit 1060fulton.com for more about downtown loft living!

If you want to move those units, you're going to have to slash the prices. Sorry, but you new that was a possibility when you developed the building.
