Local Hmong Writer Burlee Vang on VALLEY WRITERS READ ON KVPR 89.3 FM this Wednesday Night, December 26th at 7 p.m.

He’ll be reading his short story, "Polaroids of Tom."

The author’s mom is pregnant with Tom. She goes to a clinic and is given the wrong kind of medicine. The baby, whose skull is not properly formed, dies after the first week of life. This story contains many beliefs, customs and practices of our Hmong community in Fresno.
