Fresno Monorail system and local valley high speed rail trams
Ever notice the various pages with images of the Fresno Monorail?

These websites have been around for sometime... I noticed them sometime around 2000.
Regarding the antique system... ten years ago I got to ride on the first subway system that was ever built.. The Underground or Tube... and it is the easiest way to get around London, better than the buses or taxis, you had to know the bus route and the taxis cost more than both. I also got to ride on the Metro in Paris... and comparing the Tube to the Metro I'll say the Metro is a smoother ride because not only are the cars on rails but they run on rubber tires that produce a smother ride... there should be a system with a electric rail in the ground and a wire in the air for power to the motors that turn rubber tires, on a tram / streetcar system, there could even be enclosed ground level systems (roads) the cars could go from the neighborhood roads and the trams could go in to a expressway high speed for commuting to other near by communities and then move on to the streets at a low gear speed, In other words it would be a local valley multi speed rail system.
Just think you could get on a local streetcar and take it to any community in the county or central valley and get there quicker than driving your self, that's the key to a mass transit system, making affordable and quicker than driving yourself.
remember to give me the credit and some $$$$ for the idea :-)

broadband
Unlike some trams and light rail systems, modern monorails are always partitioned from other traffic and pedestrians.
Why not telecommute?
I don't get why there isn't a bigger push for telecommuting. Obviously not every job can be done at home, but plenty of office work can be done on a home PC with broadband internet access. Even if you had to be physically in the office for some reason during the week, each day you can work from home is a 20% reduction in an individual's contribution to pollution and traffic congestion (assuming a 5 day work week). And for those who can't telecommute, there's still a benefit because the roads should be smoother sailing.
I'm all for better mass transit in Fresno, but as far as the problems of traffic congestion, rising gas prices, and smog, a push for telecommuting could have an immediate impact. And not just Fresno, but pretty much anywhere that faces these kinds of issues.
The park closed in 2000. There are a bunch of condos on the property now.

There is plenty to do for under age visitors to Vegas. Don't forget that the MGM Grand also has one of the biggest amusement parks in the city! And there is always the Liberace Museum!
Monorail has a lot of things going for it. I've posted on this extensively once or twice, so I just put it short.
-It would cost just about as much as light rail (tram/streetcar), with maintaining costs being lower.
-It's all around better than light or heavy rail in: safety, cost, speed, environment, traffic, etc etc :)
I like this a lot. I hope it happens we need to plan for the future here. Traffic and smog is getting really bad here in Fresno. Personally I dont see why they dont plan on expanding it through Clovis ave down to Jensen and back to Downtown Fresno. Make a loop.
The problem is people would still have to drive to the stations. But if they were close by, I'd personally ride one to work everday. I hate dealing with traffic.
