Calling all area artists
The Fresno Art Museum is looking for artists willing to donate a piece of their work to raise money at our largest fundraiser, Carnival, on Feb. 16th.
For the past 59 years, the Fresno Art Museum has been at the forefront of providing the community with great art cultural experiences.
In order to provide these experiences to tens of thousands of people annually, we depend on the generosity of many community folks. The Carnival event makes up 25% of our revenue and allows us to show over 20 exhibits annually and offer an array of educational programs. At Carnival, we have both silent and live auctions. The biggest attraction of the silent auction is art.
Artists who donate a piece of work to the auction will receive the following in return:
Visibility of your work through the auction book to more than 1,100 art enthusiasts;
Opportunity to promote yourself by having information at the art auction tables on the day of the event;
Opportunity to display and sell your work at the Museum's annual Men Who Cook event on Fri. June 6, 2008 (1,000 people in attendance)
This year’s theme is “Carnival: Search for the Lost Kingdom” and the event will be held Feb. 16, 2008, at the Fresno Convention Center. This will be the 27th Carnival, which hosts a grand dinner, dancing, fabulous auction, and is celebrated in a Mardi Gras style! We hope all local Valley artists will strongly consider supporting the Fresno Art Museum and the arts by donating a piece of art.
For information on how to donate a piece, please contact Valerie Bender, Art Auction Chair at (559) 441-6766 or Starr Lopez, Special Events Coordinator at (559) 441-4221 extension 114.
