Award-winning Author Manuel Munoz at Reedley College Thursday 7 p.m.

Author Manuel Munoz, one of the Valley's rising literary stars, will be speaking this Thursday at Reedley College.

Originally from Dinuba, Munoz is the author of two highly acclaimed short story collections:

"The Faith Healer of Olive Avenue" (Algonquin Books, 2007), and
"Zigzagger" (Northwestern University Press, 2003).

Awarded an NEA grant for literature in 2006, Munoz's work has appeared in The New York Times, Glimmer Train, and Boston Review amongst many others. His writing has also been aired on NPR's Selected Shorts. He graduated from Harvard and has an MFA from Cornell. He currently lives in New York City.

He was also shortlisted for the $42K Frank O'Connor International Short Story Prize, which recently was awarded to Miranda July.

This is a rare chance to see him read, and it's a free event. Here are the details:
