Friends of the Fresno County Public Library Informational Meeting
October 17 at 6 pm, Cedar-Clinton Branch Library

The Friends will host informational meetings to encourage participation
in forming new groups for the Cedar-Clinton and Sunnyside libraries.
The Friends coordinate a variety of fundraising events throughout the

Branching Out: Two Nights with Kay Ryan on Emily Dickinson, Nov 5 at

Kay Ryan will discuss the works of poet Emily Dickinson and will read

Town Hall Book Discussion: No God But God: The Origins, Evolution and
Future of Islam, November 6 at 7 pm
James Druley will lead a discussion on Reza Aslan's book in conjunction
with Aslan's Town Hall lecture on November 14. Copies of of the book
are available to check out at the Politi Branch Library. Politi Branch

Woodward Shakespeare Festival Reader's Theatre: "Henry IV", November 7
at 6:30 pm
This is a staged reading of Shakespeare's classic play. Audience
members can bring copies of the play to read along with the cast.

Change is Coming Over the Sierra, November 7 at 6:30 pm
Fresno author and historian Gene Rose will discuss the Sierra Nevada and

Literacy Tutor Training, November 10 from 9 am to 5 pm
Volunteers are needed to help adults improve their reading, writing,
spelling and math skills. Free training and tutoring materials

Society of Western Artists Exhibit and Reception, November 10 at 2 pm
The Society will host its annual art show and reception. Artwork will

Mystery Book Club: Justice Hall, November 18 at 2:30 pm
This monthly book club co-sponsored by the Sisters in Crime gathers to
discuss popular mystery novels and "whodunits". The featured book in

An Evening of Mystery and Song with Author Lorie Ham, November 26 at 7
pm
Local author and singer Lorie Ham will talke about her background as an
author and her process writing mystery novels. Ham will present a
concert and will sign copies of her books after her lecture. Sanger

Basic Steps of Salsa, November 29 at 5:30 pm
Learn basic salsa dancing with instructor Carlos Estrada. Students will
rotate so a partner is not needed. All ages are welcome.

Book Discussion: What is the What, November 29 at 6:30 pm
This monthly book group will discuss the true life story of Sudanese
