lunch review big ced's famous bbq

we (myself & two friends) were going downtown for the grand opening of cafe corazon (great coffee shop on the fulton mall) and we wanted to grab some lunch first. we were driving to a great little meat market when a sign caught my eye...big ced's famous bbq. we quickly busted a u-turn and pulled up. we found out that big ced's motto is "where's the ribs?" they've been open for about 6 months, and the restaurant seats about 50.

i ordered the combo plate w/ribs & hot links. the ribs were tender and moist and were very good. the hot links were good, and not too spicy. in fact, they probably could have used a little more kick. i had sides of potato salad (good) and some mac and cheese. the mac and cheese was great homemade stuff.

we also had the pulled pork plate. the pulled pork was a little more like cubed pork. it was tender and soft, and pretty good tasting. It had a mild flavor. my friend had the chili beans (he said they were tangy) and the fries. the fries were baked, and had more of a baked potato feel to them, but with a nice seasoning.

our final plate was the hot link plate. my friend enjoyed it, and also felt that it could have been a little spicier. he also really enjoyed the man n cheese. he described the chili as "citrusy and salty."

overall, the food was very good. a little much sauce. i'd definately go back. especially for the mac n cheese.

one last thing, they're not too far from chuckchansi stadium (just west on tulare) so you could grab a meal before an event @ the stadium.

also, if you know where april #2 meat market, formerly chris meat market, is, you can find this place. it is one street north.

zipcode

hmm, not sure where i got that zip code, i think yelp might have come up with it. yours seems right. the picture i took of their menu lists 93701. weird.

you sure that zipcode is correct? I searched it on google maps and I don't think it would be walking distance to chuckchansi park. however, this one is right there.
