Fulton Mall and Downtown events

Excerpt from Craig Scharton's article from www.fresnofusion.com

Some common elements of successful downtowns are: they are lively gathering places, there are many things to do, everyone in the community feels welcome, and people from other places enjoy visiting there too. Downtowns are places that reflect and respect the community’s heritage, as well as the best of what is going on in the present.

Downtown Fresno’s core is a general area roughly bounded by M Street, Ventura, the Southern Pacific Tracks, and Stanislaus (give or take a few blocks in either direction). Downtowns are walkable districts. The freeway triangle is NOT walkable. These boundaries could be argued a block or two in either direction, but generally, downtown is defined by the area that has (or had) enough density to support taller private-sector buildings. Focus on this area.

We are trying to come up with exciting ideas for downtown events. We need your input in conceptualizing and possibly bringing a downtown event into reality. Come by Fusion and drop us some ideas.
