Speaking of Hillary Clinton:
There is bad news about her husband.
It is opined that Bill Clinton committed racist hate crimes, and I am not free to say anything further about it.

No, to be honest, I've not seen Sicko as of yet.
I have all of his other works with exception to 'Roger and Me.'
I'll probably watch it sometime soon, but am all too aware of the medical concerns with HMO's and such, and to be honest, am too busted up half the time with people who's real life scenarios are devestated and unable to be honestly addressed/cured with adequate health care,
-than to watch more happen on the big screen, (not that I don't care about those people too, it's just a lot to take at once.)
The Canadian health system is good,
--but there is a real concern with things having to be done 'when the system,' dictates, ---rather than the US model.
-I have Canadian relatives who have had some major health issues that didn't initially start out as such,
----but snowballed because the care was not there as fast and onsite, (this is not even commenting on the issue of stuff that get scheduled, and then bumped back and back further due to surgeon/facility shortage and other more 'pressing,' cases.)
I still may wind up moving to Canada... I happen to really like Canadians.
But their system is far from perfect, trust me.
since the American dollar is currently equal to the Canadian Dollar, the old moving to Canada statement is getting better and better since they've got heath care there and it's seems more likely that Hemp will be legal in Canada before it does in the US.

at the end of a day,
hunkering down with something that smells pretty and dances backwards
who thinks you're the greatest thing since sliced bread

they got secret freakin' service standing there for freakin' EVERYTHING...)

...Dennis Kucinich.
Just as well I suppose. I heard him 'speak' in San Luis Opispo at the SLO Reggae Fest last Sept. 22. The guy talked for 30 minutes and litereally said NOTHING. Everyone was screaming and cheering and I was like, um, hello? Do you have ANY plan for ANYTHING? Other than a really hot wife, the guy has nothin'...

Mr. Void:
Yup. Unfortunately, at election time, instead of using the more thoughtful/subtle parts of the brain, people tend to use the bit that
incited the peasants with the pitchforks and torches up to the castle to
kill the 'monster'.----Also unfortunately, the marketers/campaigners know this and appeal to folks' lowest-common-denominator hopes and (mostly) fears. This is one of the reasons I avoid TV esp. around election time.
Mr. W.Water:
Yup. Mainstream Democratic politics ain't always me, but after
two elections of voting Green/Nader, I doubt I'll go that way again for awhile (at least for president).
Despite all intelligent (sp?) effort at this whole decision making process:
There will be a lot of people (both locally and abroad,) who will see a few points, at least, and never move past them:
1. -Hillary will be viewed loved/hated because she's a woman.
2. -Obama will be viewed loved/hated because he's a person of color (and) has a name with 'middle-eastern-Islamic' ties.
3. -And Mitt Romney will be seen as a 'cult member.'
I think Mitt, if he gets the conservative Right's support (largely Southern Baptist,) will be handling that issue, ---but it will be interesting to see how it plays among Christian circles none-the-less. (Oh to be a fly on the wall... I think I'll listen to some sermons broadcast on the net a bit in the upcoming year...)
The 'Hillary' 'Obama' issues?
-that's going to be one heck of a fight, -and I don't think it's going to be pretty, (I think a lot of the more base feelings of a lot of people are going to be exposed and have to be dealt with, as well as hear folks out as to why they 'really,' are voting/ not voting for any.)
What is kind of sad?
I think any of them would have had a better shot at the whitehouse 25-35 years ago, and seriously? In a lot of ways see our whole 'blended,' society (as well as the attempts of the 70's, 80's, and 90's,) as having run their course and not doing particularly well these days.

I wouldn't mind Hillary, but some folks just have this crazed hatred of her. I know our country's pretty uncomfortably divided as it is.
I've been frustrated, stymied and angry at nearly everything Bush has done and can't wait for his presidency to be even more over than it already is, but I wonder if throwing gasoline on the other side's fire-o'-hate will be good for the country as a whole.
I'd prefer Obama.

I would rather see Obama in the Whitehouse than Hillary because it would be a complete fresh start. Turn the page. A wave of hope and goodwill, new opportunities for the disenfranchised. An Obama presidency would heal a lot of old wounds like JFK did. But, any one of the Dem front runners would be better than this current administration. And the first woman presidency, even if it is Hillary would be pretty damn exciting. She's quite competent.
first off.
-Fresnoise, thanks for the reporting on that, (not surprised by the far left and far right winding up as bedfellows... extremists kinda creep me out to begin with...)
You wanna see something really wild?
-The conservative Christian Republicans are getting ready to endorse Mitt Romney.
Mr. Romney is a Mormon.
Conservative Christians have always (I repeat ALWAYS,) viewed Mormonism (Church of the Latter Day Saints,) as a cult.
(There are no kinder words to say it...)
---particularly back East.
I never thought I'd see that day...
I spoke with a buddy back home (has his own business, does woodworking as well,) -and we both lived in upstate NY (lower tier,) --which was an area that Hillary really fought for, --and while I was there, was doing a bang-up job in terms of helping with some of the extreme poverty, (yes, there are areas outside of NYC where there is big money, (huge money,) -but there are entire counties where people are so broke you think you're driving through a ghost town, --and folks still live there.
Orange County NY was booming after 9/11 and housing prices were going the same way of Rockland co, (with Ulster Co. not far behind,)
-These were all 'commutable,' areas from NYC, and houses went from 40 to 60 thou (with acrage,) to two to two point five hundred in just five years. (yep... MAJOR rise as folks wanted to get out of the city that had been attacked...)
In the 24 months that I've been here, my buddy tells me that (in the Middletown (Orange County) area, --that there has been a lot of businesses closing... (which is not a good thing.)
-And a lot of folks are loosing jobs and work, (He's busy remodelling houses, -but he's always been a hustler... one of the things I truly admire about him...)
-apparently times are getting tough back on the suburban front...
Hillary is our senator,
---and she had done a lot to really help out upstate (like in a big way, ---again, upstate NY is totally different from Downstate and NYC, -HUGE money differences,)
-but things are not going well.
I dunno if she goofed up or not.. (stuff does not turn sour (nor better,) that fast, anyway...
Just startling news nonetheless...
(I've been kinda happy with what Hillary has done thus far, and don't know what to make of this.)

It was a good speech. She doesn't need notes. Very well thought out. Support the troops not the war. After the speech she greeted folks. All the waving hands hoping to get an autograph or a handshake was touching. The most interesting part for me was where I was standing was where the 'protesters' were. There were about 15-20 of them holding various anti-Hillary signs. There was a biker with two big american flags on his Harley. There was a disabled guy in a wheel chair who yelled out, "Yeah, free abortions for all!" The grey-haired Republican women, who had t-shirts on that said they were the life of the party. One of them held a sign up that said: "Hillary lives in upscale Govt housing for free" I didn't understand the point of that one. The Ron Paul supporters and the IWW kids vied to be which one yelled out the loudest, angriest accusations. Seeing these two groups on the same team was funny. The Far Left (IWW) went so far to the left that they met up with the far right (Ron Paul Libertarians) and became allies in their common dislike of Hillary. Politics does make strange bedfellows.

runningmates
I've seen some bipartisan campaign stickers and buttons with Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul.
I think the running-mate is picked after the primaries and during the parties conventions.

regarding Kucinich's plans he's talked about them during the debates, and he lists them on his web site.

just you wait
hillary.
then jeb.
the george p bush
then chelsea.
then one of the twins.
the hits keep coming.
Say what you will about Hillary
but if she wins, that would mean in the last 30-whatever years we've had two, only two families in the white house.
Is that weird to anyone else?
