This is not so much a tip, but, I just found some interesting logic in a case relating to bicycles:
It is legal to carry a dirk or dagger (once referred to in a police report I read as a Dirker Dagger) on you so long as it is not concealed.
Most people don't realize that they don't have to answer a police officer's questions when they are pulled over, other than identifying information.
For those of you who have gotted ipods for xmas - it's dangerous to wear headphones or earbuds while driving or riding a bike.
