Captian of Calaveras with broom

433 N Calaveras Alley March

Councilwoman Sterling,

Mr. Gregory Barfield, your Chief-of-Staff, makes me very aware of
how right busy your schedule is. With that in mind I want to give
you the opportunity to mark your diary.

May 27th, 2008, 2 weeks from today, that is a Tuesday, I want to
hold a march in the alley behind 433 N Calaveras. This alley is
important as it is being used by drug dealers selling 'poison' and is also
being used by punters seeking 'poison'. The coppers are doing all
they can to get them but they come back.

Drug dealers hate the bright light of television cameras and the noise
of angry neighbors. Doing a very public march will draw attention
to them, more important, it will let their punters know that they are being watched.

If the drug dealers have no punters for the 'poison' they close up shop.

The 'poison' is bought by more than members of the neighborhood. All
of Fresno knows that they can 'score' there.

May 27th is a Tuesday, you have to be here for City Council. You will
be in town and not far from where the march will take place. I will buy the
police whistle for you. I will buy the placard. All you have to do is show some
courage and come down and march with the folks you were elected to
serve. To protect the district you were elected to serve.

I will be there with others. I am not afraid.

Councilwoman Sterling, you have told me in the past that you care. That you
serve ALL of the district. If you get the courage to march, perhaps another
road in your district plagued by crime might step forward and do the same.

I will let the whole world know I have invited you. I will let the news media know I have
invited you. I will let the coppers know.

If May 27th is already booked in your diary, pick a date. Any date. I will
work with you.

Councilwoman Sterling, I challenge you to show your district that you
are hands-on in the fight to protect the lives of children.

Cheers,

I invite Councilwoman Sterling to put mouth to a police whistle and March to drive drug dealers selling 'poison' from the alley behind 433 N Calaveras. Councilwoman Sterling told MOI on Saturday that she gets calls from folks who do not like what I am doing. What is there not to like about getting drug dealers selling 'poison' out of the community. We can not 'peacefully co-exist' with evil. 'Good Folks' have to step up and fight for their road. The summer will soon be here and along with the hot nights will be the drug dealers selling 'poison' It is time we turned up the heat and make them see that what they are doing is not going to be allowed.

Mind, Councilwoman is right clever and will try to find a reason why she can not do this. I wonder how she deals with other roads in her district that have same problems.

Councilwoman Sterling has been in office long enough to know that change can be forced if one is brave enough to come forward.

I will keep you posted as to how she replies to this. Any bets?????

Late show

I know im a few weeks late on this. I read this post when it first came out so i dont know if Council woman Sterling ever showed up. i actually didnt even recall the date of the march until i saw it now.

I had the akward pleasure of meeting Mrs. Sterling at The Vibe last Friday night. i was with my derby team skating around and here comes this woman with a couple of flackies. She walked up to us and said, "Oh my God!!! I have to take a picture. I'm your number one fan!!" and of course being the smart ass i am i said, "Calaveras street is calling you out, girl." She just looked at me with a blank stare. so i proceeded to say, "have you ever been down there?" and she responded, "Come on girls, lean in lets take a picture." so i said, "only if you promise to make good on the words you spoke during your campaign and go to the streets of the folks who voted for you." she again ignored me and said, "hurry up now, this picture is gonna go on my website." so of course, since im an ass, i said, "are you ignoring me like you've been ignoring Calaveras street?"
snap snap, the picture was taken and i smiled politely as she walked away and i said, "dont forget Calaveras Street Mrs. Sterling. You know they're gonna keep calling you out til you do your job!"
she turned to me and said, "call my office and make an appointment." to which i said, "Like Calaveras Street has been doing with no success?"
her little hench woman glared an evil glare and they almost ran off.
i was very proud of myself but my team wasnt too thrilled with me.

i dont care. i dont like her.

Councilwoman Sterling accepts

Rob DeFrees

Rob:Thanks for wanting to lead the march against drugs in your neighborhood. After looking at schedule and our phone conversation this morning, Ms. Sterling looks forward to being there with you and the neighbors on June 3 at 5 pm.gb

There it is. In writing! gb stands for Gregory Barfield, Councilwoman Sterling's Chief-of-Staff.

I changed the date to make it fit the councilwoman's schedule.

I have the 'Grime Reaper' costume, a coffin, tombstones and police whistles.

Any and all are invited to come and blow a whistle.

Getting ready for Councilwoman

Rob DeFrees

This old geezer is a big fan of Broadway. One has to add a little drama to get folks attention. "Poison' kills. So, I ordered a grime reaper costume, a coffin(drat, Councilwoman Sterling was in the business, she could have provided), tombstones and police whistles.

I did something of this sort in a different city and the media loved it. The grime reaper does capture attention.

Make up a flyer about the Drug House with Ms Sterlings Picture

Also include a pictire of the drug house on the flyer.
Council Woman Sterling Please help Shut down the Drug House
Druggies and thieves are hanging around 433 N. Calaveras.
Watch your yards.
Include the City Hall phone number and crime stoppers phone number.
Send a copy of the flyer to the property owner/landlord.
Also put up flyers about it around the neighborhood.
Maybe send out a few flyers to propertys around 433.
Make it too "Hot" for them.

I must be thick as a brick

Rob DeFrees

I posted a good write on my website for the whole world to see. Even added a clever tune to go along with the read. Allow this old geezer to be shameless and ask that you check it out. www.calaverasstreet.com I promise it cost bugger all to do.

Heck, I am getting quite fond of Bill McEwen and his kindness. He sent me a link to his blog and I was gobsmacked that he added a link to mine. CLASS!!! I put a link to Bill's blog on my website. Want all of my mates to see how clever he is. I also put a link to Fresno Famous on there. The folks here are brilliant as well.

I digress.............I am trying to shame the poor councilwoman but am of the opinion that she has no shame. She hears only the voices of the chosen few and MOI is not one of.

I will let whole world know of the March and if it turns out to be but MOI and a few blowing whistles and waving placards, am told MOI is right LOUD when the need calls for.

Oi!! The tune used to go along with the read is the 'Chicken Dance" Wonder if Councilwoman Sterling is clever enough to get the meaning. She can always have her Chief-of-Staff, Gregory Barfield(he who waits for Councilwoman Sterling to be made redundant so he can slip into her place) explain the pun.

Rob Good Luck with Your March I doubt she will show her face.

I called her office a few months ago about a few abandoned train cars downtown. One is laying on its side. They are constantly covered in spray paint. The city grafitti crew keeps coming out to paint over it. They should make the train car owners BNSF move them. It's near the corner of Walker and Butler in Ms. Sterlings District.
There is also a drug tent City behind where the train cars are.

no bets, but...

i'm guessing the chances are slim.

then again, when i was in school and taking a class on community development, our prof did talk about doing things like calling the news, posting info everywhere to basically shame the public officials into showing up.

so, good luck. i hope she shows. and i hope it helps keep out the pushers and the punters.
