Yeah, there was a switch in their tacos since the name switch. That and the staff is on a constant rotation now.
Go for carnitas instead of carne asada.
Their asada is usually dry. The carnitas are almost always moist and good.
Oh and there have been a new group of bums out front. One asked me for change and I told him I had none. He turned around and held out his hand and told me he had some that he could share since I had none. He offered to share half of whatever he had. Nice guy and I bought him food (I didn't have change, just a $20) and haven't seen anyone happier than he was.
Lately -- maybe it's the switch to "April" -- the place just isn't as good as it was a few years ago. It's still in the handful of taco places that I adore, but at this point, I'm often choosing La Elegante over April Meat, since they're basically in the same place.
Buches and Tripas for the
Buches and Tripas for the bold at heart. They were the best. Seems to me that the quality has dwindled
Carnitas not Carne Asada

I used to think so too
