Here's the skinny: Youth Orchestras of Fresno, a youth music organization serving the Central Valley, seeks artists to paint and otherwise decorate violins to be auctioned off at a gala fundraising concert/celebration in March 2010. Artists must submit applications by November 1, 2009. Ten artists will be chosen and will be given donated violins that have been deemed unplayable. These violins will become their canvasses, and the finished products of their artistry will be displayed in venues around the Central Valley before being auctioned off at the Youth Orchestras’ gala Evening of Enchantment fundraising event on Saturday March 27, 2010, at CSU Fresno.
