The Black Pennies play first Fresno gig at Yoshi Now! flea Saturday.
There's lotsa reasons to go enjoy the first
flea market of the season at Yoshi Now! this Saturday
morning/afternoon:
First of all, it's a kind of crossroads that these people
have created-----all sorts of people meet, connect, chat
and mingle here.
Lotsa cool stuff to be had at bargain prices:
crafsty people, swap meet-ee people, food vendor-ee people--
all selling their wares. (plus: usually cool deals going on inside as well).
And MUSIC--------my sons band: the Black Pennies, are one of the bands playing----about 1 or 1:30 I think-----fleas are notoriously inexact, but notoriously wonderful.
My son's 14...and , not that I'm prejudiced or anything, but he's already writing some interesting music with the drummer (also 14).
They were a duo--a sort of punk/surf instrumental thing...but now they've added a couple of guys. I'm looking forward to seeing what they've come up with.
Hope to see y'all there Saturday at Yoshi Now on Broadway and Mono
on what promises to be a nice day of mild weather and intense flea market action.

Oh, I think that Famous Guest knows about Punks...just not in a musical sense.
The Black Pennies were Fantastic @ Yoshi NOW! and at a very young age with nothing but time and talent ahead of them.
