The Basics of Burlesque

Every week for 8 weeks, from 5:30 - 6:30 pm the founders of the Valley Burlesque Society will guide students through the basic priniciples of burlesque performance and the art of the tease. Subjects covered will include walking basics, shimmies, stage presence, and tips on how to create a character, as well as costume suggestions, makeup for stage, and a tutorial on pasties. A complete dance choreography will be progressively taught in each class to be performed by students at the end of the class series.

Each class will begin with a stretching and cardio warmup.
All ages over 18 welcome, you’re never too old. All sizes and shapes celebrated.
Dance or performance experience is not required to take this class!
Please, as with any new exercise regimen, consult with your doctor before starting any new physical activity.

Tap into your inner diva, get comfortable in your skin, and have some fun! Whether you want to learn for fun and frolic, or your goal is to get on stage and strut your stuff, this is a class for you.

$80 for an 8 week series for those pre-registering, or $15 per class, drop-ins welcome.
