Remember when I was lamenting how I couldn't think of an independent coffee place that was close(ish) to where I work?
Well, word from MySpace is that the Infoshop is opening up a coffee house, today, at its spot in Chinatown. Don't know exactly what they'll be serving, but if I can get a good Americano I'll be set. If someone checks it out, throw up a review will you.
From the bulletin:
The C.A.F.E. (Collective for Arts, Freedom and Ecology) will be opening its coffee house tomorrow. Awesome folks will be down there Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. making you coffee, tea, juice and bagels. So fuck corporations and come check us out!935 F St.

Cool
Had been there for a past Swede fest and wondered what the next step would be for this place.
Open Hours
Too bad their hours don't go into the evening or on weekends. Maybe they will be successful enough to expand the hours soon. I'm new in town, and starving for a good arts cafe hangout.
Yes.
I was on my bike and he said, "You shouldn't come down here without a car, boy." And I did ride away.
That's a good question about the coffee. There are lots of roasters that get their beans from fair trade companies and all that.
memories
famous,
weren't you telling me one time about a guy near there telling you to get back on your bike and ride away. funny story.
one question: if it's not corporate coffee, where's it coming from?
