Colombian music September 4th 2009
Friday, September 4, 2009 at Arte America in Fresno see the Revelacion Caribe and Revelacion Vallenata live.
Enjoy the Latin sounds of Revelacion Caribe. Formed 4 years ago with the purpose of reviving the music of great Colombian composers. The leader, Efrain Orjuela, left Colombia but couldn’t leave behind his musical heritage.
For the past several years, Efrain has been active in the Community Orchestra, and Band scenes, playing several instruments singing opera, religious music and teaching to many students of all ages. Today’s Revelacion Caribe is made up of some of the best local musicians. RC has played at many events throughout California. Efrain plays the keyboard, accordion, bass, and is the lead male vocalist. We have another vocalist, 2 Trumpets, 2 Trombones, 2 Saxes,Keyboard, Bass and Percussion section lead by the legendary Joe Lizama.
From this big band, a small but phenomenal Vallenato group is formed called the Revelacion Vallenata. It plays the more traditional music of this musical genre, native from Colombian north coast, paseo, merengue vallenato, son, puya and cumbia.
