Okay folks, SCRG is holding yet ANOTHER benefit before our season ending bout.
Originally our last bout was to be held on September 27, 2008 but the team we were scheduled to bout had to cancel so we pushed it back to October 11. This left us with a booked venue, Club Fred/Audie's Oly, for the night.
As the event planner for our league, I try my best to come up with something fresh and exciting when planning benefits, parties and fundraisers for the league. But I have to admit, the ideas i'm coming up with are a little stale.
I would like to revisit a benefit we had 2 years ago which was a derby auction; bid on a date with a derby girl.
But since there are only 4 single girls in our league and have been the same 4 since the last one, i think that may be a little tired. Especially since i dont think i have the stomach to stand on the stage yet again worrying that no one is gonna buy me!
Soooooo i ask of you Fresno, what would bring you to a roller derby party?
Gimme your ideas and tell me why we should pick your "theme" for our September 27 roller derby benefit!
Winner gets free admission for 2 to our benefit along with an SCRG T-shirt to wear at our season ending bout.
Okay Fresno, show me what you got!

a Halloween event
you could have a Halloween Party with a costume contest and all the games, music and stuff for a party, I think you could get some donations for prizes.
It's not like people would not be able to find a costume those Halloween stores and stuff are all ready in the shops for sale, now.
Another idea
What about a car or bike show? Each entrent pays a certain fee and the winner gets a certain percentage of all the money collected? Then have a party at Club Fred's/Audie's after and charge a cover for that.
Ideas
What about a 50's-esque sock hop dance type thing? Could get The Burnouts (who fricken rocked btw) to play and everyone dress in the approiate attire.
And Joey you know I'd bid on you, but I can't afford you.
a couple of quick ideas
how about a bake sale? cake walk?
drinking contest? - I'm thinking can you outdrink a roller grl?
you could race people down van ness, you guys on skates, them on foot.
