Concert & Dessert
On Saturday, September 6, 2008 the Wilbert Rimper’s Music Sharing, Inc., a non-profit organization, will be presenting its second annual benefit concert titled, “Concert and Dessert”. The concert begins at 7pm and will be held at Sunnyside High School’s Performing Arts Auditorium (1019 S Peach Ave). Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.
The purpose of this concert is to raise funds for music scholarships in support of students in Fresno County communities. The scholarships will be given to graduating seniors from local high schools, who plan to major in music at a university, college, or other specialized school. Scholarships will be offered to students with financial hardships, who also demonstrate great musical talents and a love for music.
The concert will be hosted by Fresno Deputy Mayor Jeff Eben, with special guest soloists:
• Brian Anderson, Principal Trumpet of the Fresno Philharmonic,
• Jonathan Han, Principal Clarinet of the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, and;
• The Fresno’s own, Bach’s Children Choir
Gifted music students from Fresno and its many surrounding communities will also be featured at this memorable concert.
The Wilbert Rimper’s Music Sharing, Inc. is an active organization composed of students of all ages, brought together by their love of music, and is supported by a board of officers, advisors, and volunteers. The Wilbert Rimper’s Music Sharing, Inc. provides free music lessons and concerts, thus “sharing music with others”. W.R. Music Sharing, Inc. shares music in two ways. The first through free instrumental music lessons to people of all ages, and proficiency levels who meet the organizations’ attendance and practice requirements. The second, by giving free music concerts to hospitals, senior citizen communities, nursing homes, children with disabilities and special needs, and schools.
