Saturday, July 18, will be full of laughs and surprises when the Los Angeles based improvisational comedy group Dasariski (http://west.ioimprov.com/io/shows/7) performs at 7 p.m. in the John Wright Theatre, at California State University, Fresno. As part of the CSU Summer Arts season, the artists who make up Dasariski are guest artists for the Chicago Style Comedy class.
Dasariski combines the names and talents of Robert Dassie, Rich Talarico, and Craig Cackowski, and enjoys playing to sold out houses every week at L.A.’s Improv Olympic (IO) West Theater. Having performed together for almost twenty years, they are masters of improvisational comedic styles but known for their longform improvisation which takes a single audience suggestion and creates a half-hour to hour-long piece of theatre, focusing on creating believable characters and relationships. All three artists are veterans of Chicago’s Second City, and their television and film credits as writers and actors include Saturday Night Live, Mad TV, Arrested Development, Monk, and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Opening for Dasariski are the other guest artists for the Chicago Style Comedy class: Dave Razowsky, James Grace, Irene White, Eric Hunicutt, and Jenn Winters. This event is rated PG-13.
Tickets are priced at $15 students/seniors; $20 general; $25 reserved and can be ordered by calling the CSU Summer Arts Box Office at 559-278-5109 or going online to www.csusummerarts.org.
