I am so glad that the elections are finally over with. I was getting tired of the negative ads, the bickering between parties, and fighting between people. Politics and religion are sure to start a fight.
I was happy with some results and sad about others. I'm anxious to see the final results on some of the Propositions.
I also wonder what Henry will do for work now that his political career has hit a road bump. Maybe next time Henry.
I'm also impressed that so many people decided to vote. One person does make a difference.
a few things
i was at the Perea party, but we were bumping around to several of the election parties so I actually left when the numbers were very early. So, I don't know if he left early or didn't speak to the faithful. but, i was standing near him while he was interviewed by channel 24 and while he was disappointed with the early returns, it's not like he was sulking.
as for his political future, it's still bright. and, let's not forget he still has two more years on the city council.
finally, the channel 30 thing. it seems mr. perea didn't like the way they had covered him during the campaign, and they repeatedly tried to sneak attack him for interviews (my opinion, not anything he said). in talking to some people that work at channel 30, they seemed to think that their coverage hadn't always been as balanced as it could have been.
I just watched KSEE 24 news.
I just watched KSEE 24 news. They said that Henry appeared to sneak out the back door of the party. He left refusing to speak to his supporters and the media.
Even today he remained in hiding, refusing all media requests.
Behaving this way, I feel, was a slap in the face to the people down there showing their support for him. I would take note of his behavior, and remember it next time he seeks my support.
Be a man and face your supporters and thank them for their support. Thank your opponent for a good battle and wish her the best of luck. Don't be a sore loser anymore.
As far as I know, T Man and
As far as I know, T Man and T Dad have had some run ins in the past with ABC30 and they aren't the best of friends. The guy who threw the crew out was Brian Castillo I think. Rick Bently reported on it at The Bee.
I guess everyone
takes loss differently. The best he could do was complain a little bit shrug his shoulders and go home.
I don't know if he ever played sports, especially a one on one sport, a loss is a loss, and you have to be gracious to your opponent. One on one if you honestly get beat you must honor the better man. In fact, you are supposed to get behind and support the effort of your opponent who has bested you, and therefore represents a higher ability, standard etc. than you. It also makes you a humble person.
HTP missed all the opportunities here to make himself look good or gracious or so many things.
Back in the day, if a dude rolled off like that around my neck o da woods, we'd be pulling all kinds of insults on that guy. Just saying.

ABC30 banned from T's party?
I caught a bit of the mayoral race aftermath on ABC30 where they reported that Henry T Perea was not happy with the way they were covering his campaign, and that they weren't allowed into his wrap party. Does anybody know what their transgressions against him were? Seemed kind of petty on his part.
Not Over
A year from now you'll get all the Governor race starting up... Elections never stop in a real Democracy.
If that's true that is
If that's true that is really sad. He should have thanked everyone for their support.
To him it probably feels like the end of the world. As it appears he is/was planning a career in politics. Mayor would have been a good stepping stone for him.
How much time does he have left on city council? He is probably scared of the thought of actually working in the private sector.
Didn't the T-Man leave his
Didn't the T-Man leave his party without thanking everyone there for showing up and supporting him?
That's what the news said anyways, but if it's true it shows a poor sport. I mean the guy is only 27, it's not like it's the end of the world.
I'm glad it's over, too. As
I'm glad it's over, too. As for the T-Man, he has a very bright future ahead. He's so young and talented. This loss is just a blip on his journey to great success. I'm afraid Fresno has missed an opportunity to join the rest of the nation in a shift to the left.
