Check out the latest episode of Flowing with Famous, where The Fresnan and I chat with the downtown czar and Elliot Balch (who doesn't have the title, but is still super cool in our book).

Excellent job guys. Mikey, thanks for your question to the Czar.
First, Shcarton didn't elaborate very much on how much contact, a la leave your office and pound the pavement to keep your relationship with the small business owners tight, there was going to be. Did appreciate the indirect answer of them tackling the job of putting people in the mall and having that be their support. (nice one Elliot)
Agree with Mikey, partial opening of the mall to traffic. In San Jose, they have limited hours of when the Mall is open to vehicular traffic. The ramps look very inconspicuous, and signs are posted. Traffic vehicles allowed from this time to this time, on such and such days. Great solution and way to come to a compromise.
I like the angle they are taking with letting Forrest City die. The monopolistic approach to development is too slow, and encumbers too many businesses. I still can't believe they let that type of development happen. Hard to believe they let people lock up entire acreages of land with the HOPEs of developing and leaving it to only 4 or 5 developers. I don't see how that makes sense to anyone at all. Develop districts and good working partnerships between the city and businesses/developers and let things progress in the midst of competition and efficiency.
Anyhow, just some thoughts. Cool pod cast dudes...
Oh I thought you were
Oh I thought you were talking about me.
I. Love. Flowing.
Thanks Abe and Diablo! Since you guys are all about downtown, it's important that you guys liked this one.

Good job
Hope to see all the stuff they talk about come to fruition.
I wonder how many of the festivals will be at night?
Abe
