Kindermusik Classes Starting in Fresno
California Arts Academy is pleased to announce that Kindermusik classes will be starting in Fresno at their performing arts school on Blackstone. This internationally acclaimed early music education program has introduced many children and parents to the joy and fun of making music together. Kindermusik is a music and movement program. Each week in class you’ll play, listen, and dance to music that will impact you and your child in profound ways. That’s because every song, story, and two-step has a carefully chosen purpose in this creative curriculum—one that’s designed to stimulate and strengthen the vital neural wiring-taking place in your child’s mind, right now.
Free Kindermusik Class
A free Family Time class will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 5:30-6:30pm. Anyone interested in learning more about Kindermusik is encouraged to bring their children, ages 0 to 7 to this special free event! What can parents expect to experience in the Family Time class? The Family Time Class combines singing, movement, stories, instruments and musical concepts to enhance physical development, creativity, socialization, coordination, knowledge of language and musicality.
About the Instructor, Skya Richardson
Skya Richardson, a certified Kindermusik educator, grew up in Colorado and attended a small, private school there through high school. Growing up she took violin lessons (ages 7-18), participated in a professional children's choral group, and attended several fine arts camps. After finishing high school she knew she loved music and children and wanted to put them together in her work and has never wanted to do anything else. She attended the University of Northern Colorado, where she majored in Music Education with an emphasis in voice and was in several operas. She graduated in 2001. After graduating she taught general music, chorus, and violin at an elementary school in the Denver area. In 2003 she moved to the valley where she has been teaching Kindermusik classes and violin lessons.

Parents are invited to participate in the last 15 minutes for sharing time.
Family Time – Ages 0-7
Wednesdays 3:00-4:00pm,
In 3 months, you'll play instruments together, dance together, share, and take turns, and see how music can bring you closer as a family. A one-room schoolhouse approach to music. With older children ready to show the little ones how it's done and the younger ones eager to learn, Family Time becomes a multi-layered learning environment. Each week, Skya will introduce basic musical concepts and then give you the instruments, and the structured free time to put those concepts into play
