HyeFest

For those of you who didn't get a chance to make it out to the event, here's some photos from HyeFest 2009. I thought it was great, Saturday was also a lot bigger/better than Friday night. And the weather was perfect! Hoy Lari was also excellent. A really talented band!

Year 1

I went to the festival on Sat. and the weather was freakin' awesome! And as has been said on other websites, it was their first year, so I believe a little lee-way is in order. That is not to say that the festival was bad, it was just a bit small. Hopefully it will continue to grow in the coming years.

As you should know, this is a new event for downtown Fresno.

huh?

bad weather?

the average temperature over the last two days was like 75 degrees. in june. that's downright pleasant. say what you want about the festival, but weather wasn't a problem.

This was a terrible festival.

Bad turnout, bad weather, horrible mix of booths. Why was there so many city runned booths like the City Waste Removal Booth near St. Pauls Booth? tacky, tacky.
Los Angeles has a real festival with 10,000 people showing up. Face it, downtown Fresno is dead. No decent legit business is going to have a booth downtown when their business is in North Fresno. Most of the booths were non-profits informational only, couple of jewelry, books, fruit, tile (yeah that went over real big-NOT!) and those countless homeless people roaming the mall asking for food.
Fresno stick to cage fighting you don't know how to put on a cultural festival.
