Fresno missed the boat, on attracting more donations from some of its rich

I was just thinking about the impact Fresno has on its residents, good, bad & indifferent, along with all the problems getting jammed into our fair city; like the Met, Granite Park, homelessness, gangs, Fulton Mall/DT, etc...
several people have been active in helping Fresno State; Craig, Smittcamp, Petersen, to name a few, but then this philanthropist came to mind that did not help her home town;

Kirk Kerkorian was born on June 6, 1917 in Fresno, California, to Armenian immigrant parents.[5] Dropping out of school in 8th grade, he became a fairly skilled amateur boxer under the tutelage of his older brother, fighting under the name "Rifle Right Kerkorian" to win the Pacific amateur welterweight championship.

more proof that Trickle-down does not work

more proof that Trickle-down economics does not work for local areas giving tax cuts or other benefits to businesses and rich individuals only makes it easier for them to leave and spend their riches in another location. Now if you give tax cuts and benefits to poor working people who would have a much harder time to leave are more liking to spend their extra money in the local area.

By Cyndee Fontana / The Fresno Bee

Fresno State today announced it has received a $29.4 million cash donation -- the largest ever in the California State University system's history -- for the College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology.

The donors are a family from the East Bay that developed a relationship with a Fresno State professor through motor home rallies, university officials said.

notice the comments; one prof laments FSU not paying for graduation for his school, having to pay for it themselves, waaaaaaaaaaaah
notice the kicker in the article, the Johnson Family did not have any connection to FSU except through a prof that they met at motor home rallies, which reminds me of a certain person that apparently didn't have any connection to Fresno that made any lasting impression;
