Giovanni’s Caffe Italiano
Tried out Giovanni's in Old Town recently after it was recommended by several friends. Unfortunately, we didn't have the great experience they did. The service was terrible. The waitress couldn't handle the crowd. The patio was filled and the inside was being ignored. Too many large parties (prom night) and several other large groups, but if you ask me that's what reservations are for, so you know when you need a little extra help. It took forever to get a salad and by the time our food came out, we were not impressed. They had run out of calamari, one of the components of a pasta dish we ordered, but overall the food had very little flavor. We were disappointed given what we'd heard from friends. Not even good enough to take a doggie bag. Perhaps we'll try it again to see if it was just the circumstances of that evening...
Best Italian Food EVER!
My new favorite hang out! This place is just the coolest.. and CLOVIS so needed it! Don't know what was up with that other diner. But, there were 6 of us that had dinner on Saturday night, and the FOOD WAS AMAZING! We all had different dishes so we could really try everything. I will be returning ALOT! All of our dinners were just OUTSTANDING! The staff was fun... the owner was cool and kept coming by to check on us. They server Peronii beer on draft (so much better than the bottle!)
I was there early this morning. Grabbed a cup of Joe.... and it was one of the best cups of coffee EVER! I was told it was a local Roaster..and damn good stuff!
SO!... if you haven't checked this place out... your missin out! Kinda tough to find, smack dab in the middle of Old Town clovis... Across from where the DMV USE to be (they knocked it down..and moved it way out shaw. Way to go Arnold!
