Because Famous has always been a place to talk about weed, I thought I'd link to this Ed Stewart post. It's a clip of Anderson Cooper and some dudes talking about the pros and cons of legalization and a good intro to the debate. The governor says it's time to start talking seriously about it because it would kick down some heavy tax dollars.
The way I see it:
The arguments against legalization are weak at best, and weakened further by the fact that alcohol is legal and a generally socially acceptable form of fun.
Legalization pro
*Forget the tax dollars, maybe we can finally be honest about the fact that a lot of people in this country like to smoke pot. And they aren't criminals.
Legalization con
* Fresno PD's Weed Checkpoints. You know it would happen. "Have you been smoking tonight son?"
Here's some more info from Famous user boykit.
half way comment assessment
way to check the facts, orcaoid. i mean, really, you're going to accuse someone of failing as a journalist and you're unable to click a link, and see that the author of the post was, in fact, named boykit?
furthermore, what's up with insinuation that famous is gay?
welcome to the present.
I think you are confused.
boykit is the name of the user who wrote the post I linked to.
"user boykit"? is that a Freudian slip or are you finally
coming out of the closet?
did you mean "toolkit"?
I thought journalists did more proofreading before publishing, even on blogs?

Alan Autry did his whole
Alan Autry did his whole show about this on monday. They had a fair yet spirited debate. Both sides of the issue were equally represented with competence and compelling conviction. I do think it will become legalized in the next few years. It seems to me most of the people who are against legalization are religious. We are at the beginning of a revolution in thinking that will ultimately change the world we live in.
